NOTES Have you heard of Glendronach? Because I sure haven’t. Well not until a friend of mine Mitchell gave me this sweet, sweet dram for my birthday earlier this year. It’s quite striking in its appearance – the label is an impressive looking navy blue with gold trim and the contents are darker than your average Highland malt thanks to its sherry cask.
A bit of research on the distillery tells me its origins are from a town north of Aberdeen and it was founded in 1826 which makes it one of the newer faces to the scene.
I love this whisky and considering I have never come across it before in Australia or ever since I got it, I drink it sparingly and am stingy in sharing it with guests. You’ll just have to find it for yourself or take me at my word when I say its an incredible drop.
