Hope everyone had a good weekend.
Plenty of dramah~! in Perth. A friend of a friend got stabbed to death. Another one ended up in hospital because something inside them blew up (appendix i think). One girl is teetering on the brink of insanity. And after 8 months of chasing, one girl finally won her exboyfriend back…only to find out he just slept with a prostitute. Oh, and Christine had hot lesbian sex for the first time in ages that lasted most of Saturday night. All completely unrelated incidents (if it was all part of one story, that’d be one awesome story).
That was all my friends though. Nothing happened to me. I spent Saturday night at home playing videogames with some dudes. I did my homework on Sunday. I didn’t even get invited to see any of the afore-mentioned drama with my friends.
Monday is my busiest day. Three classes. First up was Interactive Screenwriting. Let me tell you: I had a dream come true in that class today. It was terrific. It was a lecture. Everyone came in and sat down and the lecturer says the magic words:
“Okay class. Today we’re going to watch Edo play videogames.”
So he brings out a PS2 and everyone is forced to sit and watch in silence while I play games. For ten minutes. Then at the end of it he asks a bunch of game related questions which only I know the answer to.
Lecturer: Who can tell me a videogame with an ergodic design? Guy in hat? Girl in blue top?….Edo!
Me: Final Fantasy Tactics?
Lecturer: Correct! I knew you’d get it right. Now let me go to a website which Edo told me about…
Being a teacher’s pet rules. Man, if only high school was like this. Imagine if you had a class where it was entirely about something you totally kickass in. It would be like Comic Book Class for Mike or Latin Dancing for Dan. I am so jealous of people like Michael Price back in highschool. He lived for science and he had science classes. I never had videogame class in highschool. Only now can I experience looking forward to a class where you totally rule, the teacher loves you and everyone else thinks you’re an enourmous dork.
My other two classes were the same old.
Just for kicks, I started writing a script for a romantic comedy a while ago. I did about 30-40 pages and gave it to my friend Melissa to read over. I cleverly told her the characters were based on people I know confident she wouldn’t work out who. She came back and said ‘both male characters are actually based on you where they are polar opposites on a moral barometer’. How the fuck did she work that out so quickly? I’m disappointed that I’m so easy to figure out.
Excellently, I read in the paper that Less Than Jake are coming to Perth. So I think I will ditch The Ataris concert in favour of it. Now I just need to find/trick/drag someone along. Given that most of my friends are in their mid-twenties doing degrees in the arts, its hard to find anyone who is into ska. I don’t think anyone has even heard of them. Might be time to start hanging out with some teenagers in a skate park.
I’m going to have to start dealing with that whole nagging ‘What are you going to do with your LIFE when you finish uni in 8 weeks’ thing soon.
For some reason, a whole lot of people commented on the fact that I have hair today (I had a mohawk 8 months ago and stopped having a shaved head about 2 months ago). I can only conclude that my hair grew a lot over Saturday and Sunday. The guy at the counter at my supermarket doesn’t good English so he told me ‘Your hair is lovely…you used to look like, how do I say, freakish?’.
Hopefully, next weekend something actually happens to me so I don’t just write about going to school and what everyone else is doing.

Faten, I’ve seen them live before and they were supposed to come to Perth twice before but cancelled both times so I have a bit of heat with them.
