So I finally made the big move and I’m now living in Melbourne. Time to update the little profile on the right side of this page!
The last couple of days were pretty rubbish. I packed a lot of boxes and stuff and met up with a lot of friends for farewell gatherings and stuff which was nice but pretty depressing at the same time.
I got in to Melbourne at midday on Sunday, and everyone was in to FORMULA ONE FEVER!
I saw my first tram after about four minutes. It was pretty exciting. Later that day I’d actually get to ride one AND go to my first ever 7-11.
When I got to Mike’s house I freaked out because I thought I had the wrong address. It was a shop! But Mike and Matt came out and sure enough, it was the right place. Let me tell you: the house is pretty sweet. There’s Erin’s shop at the front, a big-ass room full of recording equipment and about ten million comics. The house has a nice backyard, a pool and guinea pigs. So nice!
I caught up with Mike and Matt drinking their lite-beer and exchanging stories when this girl started banging on the window. It was Matt’s friend Alex (remember that post?). She really really wanted to show us ‘circus freaks’ that were staying at her house.
We went over and were introduced to Terry and Simon, who were carny folk. One of them was the Worlds Greatest Unicycling Champion and the other juggles stuff. They put on a show for the next three hours or so. We got hungry and lost interest after a while and went to have tacos for dinner.
There was supposed to be a fight for the bed between me and Matt but he just backed down and moved in to the recording studio. I’m hardcore.
Erin was staying at her mum’s so I didn’t get to see her until the next day.
We stayed up pretty late watching the telly and then went to bed.
And that’s the story of my first day in Melbourne.
