ALCOHOL 57%
REGION Isle of Skye
COLOR Amber, much lighter than a regular 10 year old Talisker
NOSE Sweet fruit, nectar
PALATE PHWOOOAAAARRRRR — Talisker is already pretty potent in its regular form, but the 57% percent packs a mean punch. It’s now much more front loaded in taste. It has a strong bite but still retains that distinct Talisker blend of peat and flavour.
FINISH Your face gradually stops contorting after the initial hit. It’s quite acidic, lingering taste of oranges.

NOTES I started doing Whisky Wednesday nearly twelve months ago and after a hiatus during the summer, why not go back to where it all began and have another Talisker. I got this 57 North as part of a sampler pack when I was touring distillerys in Scotland.
The 57 North is basically an amplified version of the 10 Year Old. It doesn’t list an age on the bottle. What you’re getting here is Talisker On Steroids. Although the same great taste of the regular variety is there, its a bit like ordering an Extra Hot version of your favourite curry. It’s a nice novelty but I can’t imagine anyone regularly drinking this stuff. Well, not unless they’re trying to forget an ex-wife or a failed business venture or something.
