This is an apple sitting on my desk at work. I bought it from Coles in January and it’s been sitting there, out in the open, for six months. In that time, its lost none of its colour or its firmness. It has the same resiliency to decomposition as food from McDonalds.
I wonder what preservatives they put in the fruit at Coles to give it this incredible longevity? It creeps me out a little bit.
