Australia’s political stand-off has finally ended, to Julia Gillard’s immense relief and Tony Abbott’s deep disappointment.
Labor will hold onto power after winning the support of two regional independents – Rob Oakeshott and Tony Windsor.

I’m not really sure what to make of this myself. I was pretty disillusioned by the campaigns that both parties ran. It’ll be interesting to see if Gillard can make this coalition with the Greens and Independants work. I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough.
