A Weekend In Rockhampton and Yeppoon

A couple of weekends ago, I flew to Rockhampton and Yeppoon to visit my sister and her family.  It was my first opportunity to spend a bit of time with her seven month old son Tyce!

Rockhampton and Yeppoon are situated in Central Queensland.  They are quiet, sleepy coastal towns that kinda embody the lifestyle you see on shows like Home and Away.  People here are super chill and spend most of their free time surfing or chilling at a park/pub etc.

There was a pretty crazy tropical storm in Yeppoon last year.  You can still see some homes like this one where the roof has been torn clean off.

I love traditional Aussie pubs like this in Yeppoon.  XXXX Gold on tap, rugby league on the TV and Cold Chisel pumping on the juke box.

Jen’s first time on a surf board.  Which is criminal since she’s lived in Australia since 2003.

On Saturday night, locals go to the yacht club for a beer or two.

My sister runs a woodfire pizza truck.  They set up in parks, at festivals, where ever they feel like.

My nephew Tyce.  He’s a cool little dude.

My sister Fi, Tyce and I enjoy a laugh.
