Youtube Friday – The Tenth Anniversary of the Socceroos WC Qualification Against Uruguay

The Socceroos have had an incredible ten years on the world stage.  In the past decade they’ve participated in three World Cups, had some famous wins, taken some of the world’s best teams to the limit and won their first ever Asian Cup trophy.

Its easy to forget now that the team were languishing in obscurity for the better part of thirty years and it wasn’t until a famous night in Sydney when the team played a World Cup qualifier against Uruguay that the team made their mark.  Here’s a video of that famous penalty shoot out.  It features some Socceroo legends – Mark Schwarzer, John Aloisi, Harry Kewell, Mark Viduka and long time captain Lucas Neill.
