Cutler & Co. Dining Room is located in an old metal works factory on Gertrude Street, Fitzroy, Melbourne’s first suburb and industrial area. As you’ll see from the photo below, it is surely one of the most unassuming looking entrances possible for an award-winning, hatted restaurant. You could easily walk passed it having no idea as to the culinary delights that were hidden behind its door.
The restaurant was opened in 2009 by chef owner Andrew McConnell. Cutler and Co serves contemporary Modern Australian cuisine which is a concise way of saying you get served a little bit of everything and it all comes out artfully plated.
Cutler & Co has consistently been a fixture in the Gourmet Traveller’s Top Ten Restaurants in Australia so Jen and I have been eyeing up a trip here for quite some time. We considered this visit a belated sixth wedding anniversary prezzie to ourselves. Here’s to the next half-dozen years of wining and dining!
We opted to go for the ‘Menu Selection’ degustation with matching classic wines.
